I am shocked and … heartbroken
I just want to make sure I am in communication w/ you all at this challenging time
… and especially extend my deepest condolences to all the Mosley family
… who I have been honored to consider as my family since I was a teenager.
I weep w/ you … please keep me informed and please keep in touch.
w/ love and aloha Randall … Randy … RJ
***** please find Tim Mosley’s message below … followed by my thoughts :
We’re all still reeling from the sudden passing of our dear brother John- shocked, stunned and given a stinging reminder of how fragile and fleeting our time is together on this earth. I’m guilty of believing that we have lot’s of time to do and share things together- to laugh and talk , eat, drink and create more memories. Everyone knows well John spent a lifetime full of love compassion, care and concern for everyone around him and you should consider yourself very fortunate if you got to experience that from him. He was loud, obnoxious and could easily intimidate anyone in his presence but all that knew him, knew well, that ‘s not his way he’s not like that. It didn’t take long for anyone to realize he was a good man with a huge heart of gold. You were lucky to know him because he was always going to be on your side- he was a hell of a good cook too. He could’ve easily fronted a rock ‘n’ roll band . He absolutely radiated presence and personality. I hope everyone can take some of what John was and use it in their everyday life to show compassion and care for others friend and stranger even when it isn’t convenient because that’s what he did all the time.
Sorry Randy I know I’m not telling you anything you don’t know but it’s helping me to firm up things I feel I have to say about John when the opportunity comes in a few days. Try as I may to fight off grief and sorrow , I’m overcome right now. Needless to say, we’re all going to miss him dearly. Now he’s in heaven where he belongs. Our dad is probably waiting for him at the gate to tell, “Now John, you’re in heaven now and you’re gonna have to watch your mouth.” John- “These heavenly thrones are way too small!” Tim.

Aloha to All Friends and Family of John Mosley :
I met John Mosley in 1975 ? … we met at the very beginning of grade 9 O’Neill Collegiate , Oshawa , Ontario , Canada
I soon found out the Mosleys had just moved to Oshawa from Minnesota , they were obviously American & I always vacationed in the USA
and was captivated by all things American … especially this unique young man … so we bonded immediately .
John being an avid sportsman, music fan & rebellious youth placed us both in the “like minded” category and so began our “thick as thieves”
history .
With too many stories to tell :
ranging from high school basketball hijinks , hiring John for concert security for Max Webster, Michigan State roadtrips, Grateful Dead concerts,
our brief but dramatic Florida residency, his tenure as Niagara Region social convener & therefore: head friend organizer for his brother Tim &
my band : the Dead Flowers in the early ’80’s
… to his assistance w/ my border crossings from 1991 until recent times; whenever I would visit Ontario from Hawaii
including his own Hawaii visits …
I have always held him in my dearest – most tight circle of friends … since I was 15 yrs. old … now 55 , the same age as John was
this past thursday when we all lost him to the angels
… he has been a brother to me for 40 years
… I am an only child … so his friendship is a big deal to me.
I am , with you all … heartbroken … now more than ever missing his generousity of heart, monstrous sense of humor & comical talent
… and what hurts the most : his love and friendship
Yes … he will live on within us all … and for me … I will try to hold myself to his standard of generousity and good humor
but for now I am sad … because my dearest of friends is no longer here with us all.
w/ love and aloha always Randall Rospond … randy … RJ
